The Transport Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring transportation operations to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of vehicles and cargo. Reporting To: Transport Manager Job Summary The Transport Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring transportation operations to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of vehicles and cargo. Key Responsibilities ā Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and routes. ā Assign vehicles and drivers based on operational needs. ā Monitor vehicle movements and ensure timely deliveries and pickups. ā Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, route changes, and emergencies. ā Maintain accurate transport records, logs, and reports. ā Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies. ā Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime. ā Resolve transportation issues such as delays, breakdowns, or customer complaints. ā Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations. ā Monitor driver performance and promote adherence to safety procedures. ā Assist in preparing transportation budgets and performance reports. ā Encourage teamwork by listening to colleagues' ideas, recognizing achievements, providing constructive feedback, and supporting staff development. ā Participate in onboarding activities to help new employees integrate successfully into the organization. ā Accurately file, update, and maintain departmental records and documentation while ensuring proper handling of organizational records in line with data privacy requirements. ā Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements ā Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field. ā Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience coordinating and supervising fleet operations. ā Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance management. ā Knowledge of transport regulations, fleet compliance requirements, and road safety standards. ā Proficiency in fleet management systems, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications. ā Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. ā Previous experience in the logistics or transportation industry will be an added advantage.
