• Provide psychological Support to clients experiencing “life-issues such as trauma, end-of-life, illness, etc. • Counselling for trauma/ grief and loss, acute and chronic illness, and mental health issues • Support the employee assisted program (EAP) of the department of human resources. • Provide staff with psychological support to manage stress, enhance relationships, manage conflicts thereby enhancing productivity • Staff training and development • Conduct training activities within departments that contribute towards meeting the institutional & departmental goals • Registration with the Ministry of Health in Kenya with a valid Practice License • A master’s degree in counselling/clinical psychology • Theoretical education in counselling (e.g. Undergraduate in Counselling) • Diploma or above in counselling/nursing in a medical context (e.g. Medical health counselling) • Additional training in fields that can complement the role of counselling (e.g. Trauma, chronic illness, death & dying) • Minimum 2 years work experience • Experience in a medical setting • Relevant work experience equivalent to the expected workload • Knowledge of human emotional social and psychological challenges
