• Maintain the Chart of Accounts in line with group guidelines and ensure proper structure within the accounting system. • Ensure the General Ledger and Trial Balance comply with IFRS, internal policies, and statutory requirements. • Review and approve journals while ensuring appropriate segregation of duties. • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions with adequate supporting documentation. • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are resolved within agreed timelines. • Conduct analytical reviews of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet to identify risks, trends, or anomalies. • Maintain departments, cost centres, and branch structures within the accounting system and ensure transactions are correctly allocated. • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and financial analysis. • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register including onboarding, disposals, transfers, and tagging of assets. • Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the General Ledger and review depreciation calculations. • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of statutory returns and tax payments to the Kenya Revenue Authority. • Prepare regulatory returns and maintain company statutory registers and related records. • Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved. • Ensure supplier invoices are accurately captured and supplier accounts reconciled monthly. • Support supplier payment planning and ensure compliance with procurement approval processes.
