Department: Bakery Reports To: Operations Manager, Human Resource, Directors Location: Kabarnet & Marigat Job Summary The Bakery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day bakery operations, coordinating bakery staff, ensuring consistent product quality, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and supporting efficient production and service. The role requires strong technical knowledge of bakery production, effective team supervision, proper stock control, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high operational standards. Key Responsibilities ⢠Supervise and coordinate daily bakery production activities to ensure products are prepared and presented according to required standards. ⢠Plan and organize production schedules based on demand, stock levels, and operational requirements. ⢠Supervise, allocate duties to, and monitor the performance of bakery staff to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. ⢠Ensure that all bakery products meet established standards for quality, consistency, freshness, appearance, and taste. ⢠Monitor the proper use, handling, cleaning, and maintenance of bakery equipment and tools. ⢠Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements within the bakery area. ⢠Monitor the availability and proper storage of raw materials and packaging materials and minimize wastage. ⢠Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate timely requisitions of bakery ingredients and other required supplies. ⢠Maintain accurate production, wastage, stock, and other bakery-related records and reports. ⢠Identify production challenges, quality issues, or equipment problems and take appropriate corrective action or escalate where necessary. ⢠Ensure proper portion control, standard recipes, production procedures, and cost-conscious use of ingredients. ⢠Support the training, coaching, and development of bakery staff to improve technical skills, productivity, hygiene, and service standards. ⢠Coordinate with the Branch Manager and other relevant teams on bakery sales, production requirements, customer feedback, and operational matters. ⢠Ensure the bakery section is clean, organized, properly stocked, and ready for daily operations. ⢠Handle customer feedback relating to bakery products professionally and recommend appropriate corrective measures where necessary. Qualifications&Experience ⢠Diploma or Certificate in Food Production, Bakery and Pastry, Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field. ⢠At least 3 years' relevant experience in bakery production, with demonstrated experience in a supervisory or senior bakery role. ⢠Relevant food safety and hygiene certification, such as a Food Handler's Certificate, is required. ⢠Training or certification in bakery and pastry production, food production, or a related discipline is required. ⢠Practical knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, production processes, food handling, and quality control. ⢠Knowledge of stock control, costing, portion control, and minimization of production wastage is an added advantage. ⢠Experience in supervising and developing bakery staff in a fast-paced production environment.
