The role acts as the control point for all project bond transactions, ensuring proper reconciliation, and compliance in all inbound transactions.Key Responsibilities1. Customs Compliance & DocumentationEnsure accurate preparation, validation, and submission of: Import Declaration Forms (IDFs)Customs entries aligned with correct customs regimesVerify correctness of:HS classification, Quantities and values Applicable customs regimesEnsure compliance with KRA Customs regulations and Project proceduresMaintain proper documentation for customs audits and inspections2. Bond Management & Monitoring (CB1/CBA1)Monitor and manage Customs Bonds (CB1 & CB1A) to ensure continuous coverage of bonded cargo.Track bond utilization and customs exposure.Ensure timely provisional entries perfection.Liaise with relevant stakeholders (AGL Customs clearance &Ops team, Declarations) to: -Avoid bond exhaustion, Prevent operational disruptionsMaintain up-to-date records of: Bond balances and Bond consumption projection.3. Monitoring, Audit & Compliance ControlConduct pre-audit checks for inbound documentation.Perform post-audit reviews to ensure: Accuracy of customs entriesCompliance with internal SOPs and customs lawsAct as the regulatory controller for all bond transactions.Identify documentation discrepancies and ensure real-time escalation and resolution.4. Reporting & Regulatory SubmissionsPrepare and submit:Monthly bond reportMonthly reconciliation and compliance reportsMonthly bond consumption projection.Maintain accurate records for:Customs inspectionsInternal and external auditsEnsure transparency and traceability in all reporting5. Stakeholder CoordinationLiaise with:KRA Customs officialsSupport and coordinate customs audits, inspections, and regulatory reviewsKey DeliverablesContinuous validity and sufficiency of CB1 / CB1A bondsTimely provisional entry perfection upon receipt of exemption.100% compliance with customs regulationsAccurate real-time audit trailsZero unauthorized transactions.Timely and accurate regulatory reportingRequirementsQualificationsExperience: Minimum 3ā5 years experience in:Bond transactions/declaration. Customs compliance and documentation and Bond managementStrong working knowledge of: KRA systems (iCMS /Kentrade)Exposure to regulatory frameworkCustoms procedures and regimesKey SkillsStrong analytical and reconciliation skillsHigh attention to detail and regulatory complianceExperience in bond tracking and customs reporting systemsExcellent documentation and record-keeping abilityStrong communication and stakeholder managementIntegrity, accountability, and compliance-driven mindset
