• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and appropriate instructional materials. • Teach Runyankore-Rukiga effectively at assigned classes. • Develop students’ competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. • Conduct continuous assessment, tests and examinations. • Mark students’ work and maintain accurate academic records. • Provide feedback and remedial support to students. • Use appropriate learner-centred and activity-based teaching methods. • Promote appreciation of language, culture, literature and heritage. • Encourage students to participate in language-related clubs and cultural activities. • Prepare students adequately for national and school examinations. • Maintain discipline and promote positive values during lessons and school activities. • Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum planning. • Support school co-curricular and cultural activities. • Perform assigned school duties and other responsibilities given by the Head Teacher. • A recognised Diploma or Degree in Education with Runyankore-Rukiga as a teaching subject.
