Farm Hand - Agriculture and Environmental Science Department

The Farm Hand position at Siaya National Polytechnic involves performing essential agricultural and livestock management duties. Primary responsibilities include planting, weeding, and harvesting crops; feeding, watering, and caring for livestock; cleaning animal sheds, pens, and the farm environment; operating and maintaining basic farm tools and machinery; sorting, grading, and packing harvested produce; repairing and maintaining farm structures; monitoring the health of crops and livestock and reporting any issues; keeping the farm clean, organized, and safe; following farm safety procedures and instructions from supervisors; and assisting with general farm maintenance and other duties as assigned from time to time. The role requires adherence to farm safety protocols and collaboration with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient farm operations.

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: - Craft Certificate in General Agriculture - One who is reliable and of high integrity. - Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
