Laboratory Attendant

The Laboratory Attendant is responsible for maintaining laboratory hygiene and operational efficiency by performing a range of duties including monitoring and recording the performance of the autoclave used for decontamination of lab equipment and waste. The role involves compiling and managing records of lab-ware, collecting and transferring used lab ware to the wash-up room from designated laboratory areas, and ensuring proper decontamination of microbiology lab ware and waste materials. Additional responsibilities include cleaning glassware and laboratory coats, reporting broken glassware for replacement, identifying and requisitioning controlled document laboratory cleaning consumables, issuing clean glassware to laboratory analysts, and maintaining a clean and organized washroom. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols and laboratory cleanliness standards.
