Operations Senior Assistant - Risk Education

The EORE lead serves as the lead focal point for Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) within UNMAS Syria, supporting the delivery of coherent, standardized, and quality-assured EORE activities across all implementing partners and stakeholders. The role supports UNMAS Syria, the Syrian National Mine Action Centre (SNMAC), UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to ensure EORE activities are implemented in line with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), National Mine Action Standards (NMAS), and UNMAS guidance. The incumbent is responsible for strengthening coordination, quality management, monitoring and evaluation, capacity development, and integration of EORE into broader humanitarian and national systems, while supporting the measurement of operational impact and behavioral outcomes. Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of the EORE Unit, the incumbent will assist with the management of EORE delivery, including administrative and logistical support, program preparation, training package development, risk education sessions, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and quality assurance. The role also involves liaising with partners, handling RE materials, documenting activities, and supporting capacity-building initiatives for implementing partners.

Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, international relations, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience; experience in risk education, mine action, or humanitarian assistance; familiarity with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and National Mine Action Standards (NMAS); strong coordination and communication skills; ability to work in high-risk environments; proficiency in Arabic and English (additional languages are an asset); experience in training development and delivery; knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks; ability to handle administrative and logistical tasks efficiently.
