Finance Director - Mining
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Group Finance Director to lead the strategic finance function during a critical phase of growth and project development. This senior leadership role focuses on capital raising, financing strategy, treasury management, and financial governance to ensure the success of a major mining project. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the executive management, board of directors, and key financial stakeholders to develop and implement the Group's financing strategy, oversee debt and equity financing operations, manage banking and investor relations, and optimize the Group's capital structure. Additionally, the role involves supervising treasury operations across multiple jurisdictions, managing liquidity and multi-currency exposures, and ensuring the Group meets its strategic and operational objectives. Beyond financing and treasury, the Finance Director will oversee consolidated financial reporting, governance, and risk management, ensuring rigorous financial controls, regulatory compliance, and transparent communication with shareholders, lenders, and other stakeholders. This position is pivotal in supporting strategic decisions and the financial success of the organization, making it an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded finance executive with extensive experience in mining project financing and transactions.
Requirements
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, or equivalent); Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the mining/resources sector or a related industry; Proven track record in negotiating banking finance and capital structuring, with demonstrated experience in maintaining investor and lender confidence; In-depth knowledge of treasury frameworks, IFRS standards, and cross-border tax and compliance frameworks, including international audit and regulatory requirements; Experience in managing multi-currency portfolios and financing operations in emerging markets, with strong skills in foreign exchange and liquidity risk management; Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills; Commitment to integrity, transparency, professionalism, and high ethical standards; Adaptability and decisiveness in dynamic financial environments.
