Credit Officer

SimplePay Capital is seeking motivated, detail-oriented, and goal-driven individuals to join their team as Credit Officers. The Credit Officer will be responsible for conducting loan appraisals to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risk, onboarding new customers by verifying their financial information and documentation, monitoring existing loan portfolios to ensure timely repayments and compliance with terms, supporting collections efforts to recover overdue payments while maintaining positive customer relationships, and ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory standards such as Bank of Uganda guidelines. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about finance, risk assessment, and customer service, and who are eager to grow within a dynamic financial services environment. The position offers opportunities to develop expertise in credit analysis, financial modeling, and relationship management in Uganda's microfinance and digital lending sector.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, loan appraisal, or financial services; Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies and financial statement analysis; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling; Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure; Knowledge of Ugandan financial regulations and compliance standards; Prior experience in microfinance, banking, or fintech is an added advantage; Must be a Ugandan citizen or have valid work authorization.
