Team Lead Electrical Engineering
Job Description
Lead all electrical engineering functions, maintenance programs, and plant expansion projects at Yalelo Uganda. This role involves overseeing electrical maintenance and reliability programs across production facilities, cold rooms, ice plants, hatcheries, and utilities. You will ensure continuous power availability and system stability, troubleshoot complex electrical failures affecting production, and lead electrical works for plant expansion including cold rooms, ice plants, and distribution upgrades. The position requires strict compliance with ERA licensing requirements and enforcement of LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) and PTW (Permit to Work) systems. You will conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major failures, address equipment breakdowns, optimize energy usage, and manage load balancing and generator dependency. Additionally, you will supervise, develop, and conduct performance management for the electrical engineering team, as well as manage electrical budgets and maintenance records.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification; Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role; Experience in power systems, maintenance, and plant operations; Knowledge of ERA licensing requirements and safety protocols (LOTO, PTW); Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience with energy optimization and load management; Proficiency in electrical design software and maintenance management systems; Excellent team leadership and communication skills.
