Job Description
The Program Manager - Agriculture will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of agricultural programs aimed at improving productivity and livelihoods for smallholder farmers. This role involves developing training materials, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring alignment with One Acre Fund's strategic goals. The manager will work closely with regional teams to adapt programs to local contexts, track progress through data analysis, and report on impact to stakeholders. Key responsibilities include managing a team of field officers, liaising with government and NGO partners, and ensuring compliance with agricultural best practices. The role requires a deep understanding of rural agricultural systems and a commitment to sustainable farming solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field; minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in agricultural development or extension services; demonstrated experience in program management and team leadership; strong knowledge of smallholder farming systems and agricultural best practices; proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS); excellent communication and training skills; fluency in English and Kinyarwanda is highly desirable.
