Export & Import Officer

The Export & Import Officer will coordinate international trade operations for Home Side Trading PLC, a growing Ethiopian trading company specializing in the export and import of high-quality agricultural commodities. Primary responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and processing export and import documentation such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and other shipping documents. The role involves coordinating with customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, banks, customs authorities, and government agencies to ensure timely and compliant shipment processing. The officer will monitor shipments from order confirmation through final delivery, resolve operational issues promptly, and follow up on international payment transactions including Letters of Credit (L/C), Cash Against Documents (CAD), and Telegraphic Transfers (T/T). Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate records of transactions, preparing operational reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable import/export regulations. The officer will communicate professionally with international clients and business partners via email, phone, and virtual meetings.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Economics, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field; Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in export and import operations; Strong understanding of international trade procedures, shipping documentation, customs clearance, and banking processes; Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook; Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail; High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment; Skills: Communication, Attention to detail
