Job Description
The Faculty, Psychiatry Department at UGHE is responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric education, training, and clinical services. The role involves teaching medical students and residents, providing patient care, and contributing to research initiatives focused on mental health in Rwanda and the region. The faculty member will also mentor junior staff, participate in curriculum development, and engage in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health issues. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to UGHE’s mission of equitable healthcare are central to this position.
Requirements
MD or equivalent degree in Psychiatry; Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry; Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry; Experience in medical education and teaching; Strong research background with publications preferred; Excellent communication skills in English and French; Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an asset; Commitment to UGHE’s values of equity and social justice.
