Technician - Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department

The Technician for the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Siaya National Polytechnic will ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and regulations. The role involves liaising with relevant authorities, stakeholders, contractors, and service providers on matters concerning electrical power supply. The technician will maintain inventory for all tools, machines, and equipment in the Workshop/Laboratory, prepare preventive maintenance schedules, and ensure compliance with both Statutory and Polytechnic's safety protocols regarding the operation of Workshops/Laboratory. Additionally, the technician will support the smooth running of the Department Workshop/Laboratory, work hand in hand with workshop practice trainers when preparing materials for practical lessons, and maintain a clean and properly operational work area, tools, machines, and equipment. The technician will also coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of electrical power supply projects and activities within the institution.

Craft Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Electrical Operator level 5. One who is reliable and of high integrity. Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
