SHE Officer

The SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Officer at Acacia Foundation Limited will be responsible for ensuring compliance with national and international safety, health, and environmental regulations in the company's PET bottle manufacturing facilities. Primary duties include conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and environmental impact evaluations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. The officer will develop and implement safety policies, emergency response plans, and training programs for employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. They will also monitor workplace conditions, investigate incidents, and ensure proper documentation of safety records. The role involves collaborating with production teams to integrate safety measures into daily operations while maintaining operational efficiency. Additionally, the officer will liaise with regulatory bodies for inspections and certifications, ensuring the company meets all legal and industry standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of experience in SHE roles within a manufacturing environment; Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent; Strong knowledge of Ugandan and international SHE regulations; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols; Proficient in SHE management systems and software; Strong communication and training skills; Fluency in English; Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
