Hardware Field Sales Executive
Job Description
Actively scout for new business opportunities by identifying and visiting prospective clients such as hardware stores, garages, construction firms, and auto repair shops. Conduct cold calls, walk-ins, and scheduled visits to pitch company products. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads and convert them into sales. Demonstrate the use, features, and benefits of tools and machinery to potential buyers. Offer technical advice and recommend suitable equipment based on client needs. Provide after-sales consultations, including installation guidance and basic usage training where applicable. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with customers. Prepare quotations and sales proposals in a timely and professional manner. Close sales deals and ensure proper documentation and order processing. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through regular follow-ups and support. Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints or concerns promptly. Upsell and cross-sell additional products to existing accounts. Organize and plan daily/weekly routes within the assigned sales territory (Nairobi and/or Mombasa). Maintain detailed records of customer visits, feedback, and next steps in CRM or reporting tools. Analyze territory performance and adjust strategies to maximize results. Keep track of industry trends, competitor products, pricing, and promotions. Share feedback with the management team to help refine sales strategies and product offerings. Submit timely and accurate reports, including daily activity logs, sales performance, and market insights. Work closely with the logistics, inventory, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and payment collection. Coordinate with the marketing team to support promotions, trade shows, and product launches. Uphold the company’s brand image, values, and ethics in all interactions. Ensure compliance with all sales policies, procedures, and customer agreements. Represent the company professionally at all times during customer interactions and events.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, or any relevant field Minimum of 2 years proven experience in field sales of tools, machinery, or similar products Strong understanding of the hardware, construction, and automotive industry dynamics Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the region
