Primary Teacher

The Primary Teacher at Sandford International School will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in the primary section, following an international curriculum that includes the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Ethiopian National Examinations. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress through continual assessment methods, and fostering a supportive learning environment that caters to diverse learning needs. The teacher will collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and students to ensure the holistic development of each child, while maintaining high expectations for academic and personal growth. Additionally, the teacher will participate in school-wide initiatives, including community-based programs, and contribute to the school’s mission of providing an English language instructional program of international standards. The position requires a commitment to the school’s values of self-esteem development, continual assessment, and close cooperation between all stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent); Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting; Experience with international curricula (IGCSE, IB, or Ethiopian National Examinations) is highly desirable; Strong classroom management skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction; Fluency in English (both written and spoken); Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and educational technology.
