Expert Audio Transcriber (Swahili)

We are seeking an expert Swahili audio transcriber to accurately convert spoken Swahili content into written text. The role involves transcribing audio files from various sources, including interviews, meetings, podcasts, and other media, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. The transcriber will be responsible for ensuring that the transcribed text reflects the original content precisely, including dialects, accents, and contextual nuances. This position requires a strong command of Swahili, both written and spoken, and familiarity with different Swahili dialects. The transcriber will work remotely, providing flexibility and the ability to manage their own schedule. The role may also involve proofreading and editing transcribed content to ensure clarity, coherence, and grammatical correctness.

Native or near-native proficiency in Swahili; excellent listening and comprehension skills; fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 words per minute); familiarity with transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, oTranscribe); attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision; basic computer skills and reliable internet connection; experience in transcription, translation, or related fields is a plus; strong time management and organizational skills.
