Tupande Health Safety and Environment Supervisor (Fixed-Term)

Execute and enforce the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) program at the biochar facility on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Controls, Health, and Safety Specialist. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Kenyan HSE regulations, conducting site inspections and incident investigations, running inductions and toolbox talks, and supporting Safety Marshals across shifts. Serve as the on-site HSE presence to embed safety culture, escalate systemic risks, and maintain HSE documentation, incident logs, CAPA records, and inspection reports. Coordinate with the MRV Coordinator on HSE-related MRV documentation and support regulatory submissions to DOSH, NEMA, and county authorities. Implement HACCP systems at the shop-floor level, train Production Supervisors and Lab Analysts on HACCP execution, and deliver ongoing safety training and emergency drills. Cultivate a facility culture where employees feel empowered to stop unsafe work and model safe behavior on the shop floor.

Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; 2 years experience as an HSE professional in an industrial or manufacturing setting; Certified HSE professional strongly preferred (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent); Strong knowledge of Kenya’s OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007) and NEMA regulations; Proven experience implementing HACCP systems; Strong communication and training facilitation skills; Must be able to engage workers at all levels.
