LOGISTICS ASSISTANT – GAROWE

The Logistics Assistant contributes to operational efficiency in the logistics department by providing day-to-day support in air operation activities and fleet management. Key responsibilities include daily monitoring of vehicle movement, analyzing fuel consumption, and regularly updating the Fleetwave system. The role involves assisting in the planning and coordination of fleet operations, maintaining an up-to-date overview of the fleet (vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption), and collaborating with other departments to forecast and address transportation needs. The Logistics Assistant ensures compliance with ICRC fleet management policies, monitors vehicle movement in volatile regions, processes fleet-related invoices, and supports air operation activities by facilitating cargo and passenger transportation from the airport to the office. Additionally, the role includes preparing regular reports on fleet activities, conducting yearly fleet inventory checks, and creating fleet safety awareness among ICRC drivers.

Diploma in Business Management, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or any related field; 2 years’ work experience in a similar field of activity; fluency in written and spoken English and Somali language; excellent organizational and analytical skills; good communication and planning skills; proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Word and Excel); holder of a valid driving license (desirable); good knowledge of political, social, and cultural affairs of the assigned region.
