Accounts Payable

Royal Mabati Factory is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage invoice processing, payment verification, and vendor relations. The role involves receiving, reviewing, and verifying supplier invoices and payment requests, performing 3-way matching (Invoice, LPO, Delivery Note), and resolving discrepancies to ensure compliance with procurement policies and tax regulations. The position requires posting invoices into accounting systems (SAP/ERPNext/Zoho/QuickBooks), preparing and processing vendor payments (EFT, cheque, RTGS, mobile money), and maintaining accurate financial records. Additionally, the role includes maintaining up-to-date vendor files, performing supplier account reconciliations, managing petty cash disbursements and reconciliations, and supporting monthly closing processes with relevant schedules and reports. The Accounts Payable officer will also assist auditors by preparing required documentation and explanations, and provide analysis on payment trends, overdue items, and supplier balances.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA Section II/Level 4 or higher (preferred); 2–5 years’ experience in accounts payable or general accounting; Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws (VAT, WHT, statutory deductions); Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, ERPNext, Zoho, Oracle, QuickBooks); Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas); Experience with letters of credit is an added advantage; Solid understanding of accounting principles and AP workflows; Ability to handle confidential information with integrity; Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies promptly.
