Accountant

The Accountant role at Madison Investment Managers Limited reports directly to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. The position involves maintaining accurate accounting records for company and fund operations, including updating trial balances, posting transactions, journals, expenses, income, and provisions. The Accountant will prepare and reconcile bank accounts, custody valuations, investment fund ledgers, receivables, payables, and other balance sheet accounts. Additionally, the role includes managing tax-related processes such as withholding tax postings, computations, filings, and maintaining supporting schedules. The Accountant will prepare client fee notes, monitor collections, maintain income schedules, and support revenue accounting processes. The position also involves coordinating supplier invoice processing, payment preparation, online payment processing, and petty cash management. Furthermore, the Accountant will prepare weekly cash position reports and support treasury and liquidity management activities, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, professional development, and departmental projects.

A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; Completed the Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPAK) examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in a similar position is desirable; Good working knowledge of accounting software and willingness to learn new systems; High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
