Travel and Contracting Officer

The Travel and Contracting Officer at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) plays a critical role in managing administrative processes and support for staff travel and deployment across Eastern Africa. This position involves collaborating with the Travel and Mobile Staff Deployment Team Leader to draft and implement travel and movement policies, acting as the primary reference for all travel-related issues. The officer ensures accurate and updated information for deployments through the EAS travel tool, processes work permits and travel documents for non-Kenyan staff, and coordinates with regional offices to facilitate smooth travel arrangements. Additionally, the role includes managing contract administration, including onboarding and offboarding of mobile staff, maintaining contract records, and ensuring compliance with legal documentation requirements such as work permits and social security registration. The officer also supports medical interventions, organizes team events, and ensures adherence to safeguarding and EDI policies.

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Administration, Tourism, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Knowledge of MS Office Tools (PPT, Excel); Fluency in English is required; Knowledge of French and a third language is an added advantage; At least two (2) years' experience in a similar job, preferably in the non-profit sector; Experience in the touristic sector (travel agency, airline, coordination of events, visas and work permit management); Previous experience with MSF or other humanitarian organizations is an advantage.
