Cyber Security Trainer

Deliver engaging cybersecurity training sessions using practical, hands-on learning approaches to professionals and students. Develop and maintain comprehensive lesson plans, lab exercises, assessments, and training materials aligned with current industry trends and curriculum requirements. Conduct training sessions both at the IST campus and at client/offsite locations as needed. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to students throughout their learning journey, including evaluating performance and offering constructive feedback. Administer examinations, supervise practical labs, and maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and progress reports. Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment while supporting research, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives in cybersecurity training.

Qualifications & Experience - Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field. - Minimum of two (2) years' relevant work experience; prior training or teaching experience is an added advantage. - Relevant certification(s) such as CompTIA Security+/Network+, CEH, CCNA Security, or equivalent. - Practical knowledge of network security, ethical hacking, penetration testing, vulnerability management, digital forensics, and incident response. - Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration, web application security (OWASP Top 10), cryptography, PKI, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks and tools, including NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, the Kenya Data Protection Act, Kali Linux, Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nessus.
