Cost and Management Accountant

The Cost and Management Accountant will play a key strategic role in providing accurate financial intelligence, cost control, and decision support across the company’s operations. This includes land acquisition, property development, construction, rental and leasing activities. The role involves tracking, allocating, and monitoring all costs related to land purchases, sales, developments, and construction projects. The position requires ensuring accurate project costing and profitability tracking, supporting project feasibility studies, investment appraisals, and rental pricing models. The accountant will provide financial input for new project approvals, prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning, and monitor budget performance with regular updates. Additionally, the role includes conducting monthly budget vs actual analysis with detailed explanations and recommendations, identifying issues early to support corrective actions, and analyzing profitability by land, building, tenant, and project. The accountant will provide recommendations on loss-making assets and optimization opportunities, prepare timely monthly and quarterly management reports and KPI dashboards, and ensure clear financial visibility for management and the Board. The role also involves identifying and driving cost reduction initiatives across operations, targeting a minimum of 5% annual cost savings, and supporting accurate cost allocation and departmental performance tracking.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field Professional qualification CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is a strong advantage Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in cost and management accounting Strong experience in project costing, budgeting and financial analysis Advanced proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and financial reporting tools Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills Ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights
