Project Management Support - Associate

Job Description

The Project Management Support Associate provides substantive support to the planning, coordination, and delivery of project activities within the Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC). This role collaborates closely with project managers and local stakeholders to maintain effective coordination, facilitate operations, and ensure activities are delivered efficiently in line with the project’s results framework and internal processes. Key responsibilities include supporting senior technical leads in stakeholder engagement, training needs assessment, and capacity-building program development; assisting in drafting project agreements, amendments, and budget revisions; coordinating logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings; developing and updating monitoring tools, progress tracking sheets, and risk/issue registers; collecting and archiving documentation related to training and project activities; supporting financial reporting and monitoring budget expenditures; ensuring compliance with UNOPS policies, procedures, and donor requirements; managing project files and document management systems; and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives and Communities of Practice. The role also involves conducting research on project management-related topics and contributing to the drafting of reports, summaries, and briefing notes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in project management, international development, business administration, or a related field; minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in project management, coordination, or a related field; experience in procurement processes, budget tracking, and risk management; strong organizational and logistical coordination skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment; familiarity with UNOPS policies and procedures is an asset; fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional UN languages (e.g., French, Spanish) is desirable.
