Laboratory Technologist

The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support clinical research and public health initiatives. Key duties include preparing and analyzing biological samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting test results accurately, and ensuring compliance with biosafety and quality control standards. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide timely and reliable diagnostic support, contributing to disease surveillance, and supporting research projects focused on infectious diseases. The position requires adherence to strict protocols and may involve working in high-risk environments such as field sites or outbreak response scenarios.

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or a related field; Must be registered with the Tanzania Medical Laboratory Technologists Council (TMLTC); Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting; Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques including microscopy, hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology; Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills; Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions; Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili; Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure; Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
