Job Description
The Marine Spatial Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing spatial data related to marine ecosystems and conservation efforts. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining geospatial databases, creating maps and visualizations to support decision-making, and conducting spatial analyses to assess the impact of conservation interventions. The role involves collaborating with field teams to gather data, ensuring data quality and integrity, and producing reports for stakeholders. The analyst will work closely with marine biologists, conservationists, and GIS specialists to support Blue Ventures' mission of rebuilding tropical fisheries with coastal communities.
Requirements
Master's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field; minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in MEL, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts; experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, NVivo); strong report-writing skills; fluency in French and English; experience working in the DRC or similar contexts; ability to work under tight deadlines and in challenging environments.
