HSSE Consultant - Health Safety Site Inspections

Assist field teams to correct deviations from health and safety requirements, including managing breaches of requirements and poor performance by personnel and contractors. Develop and implement training programs to improve the capacity of the client's personnel, contractors, and partners in implementing their health and safety requirements. Facilitate practical training for contractors and project teams so that they 'learn by doing' and ensure continuous safe operations during project execution. The role involves conducting site inspections, identifying safety hazards, and prioritizing corrective actions using a risk-based approach. Reports must include photographic evidence of observations made during inspections to support findings and recommendations.

Professional certification in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) or related field; minimum 5 years of progressive experience in HSSE roles within humanitarian, development, or construction sectors; proven experience in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and developing safety training programs; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in high-risk environments; familiarity with international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001); experience with UN or NGO environments is an advantage.
