Project Procurement Officer
Job Description
The Project Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for the PHOTON Trial project at the National Institute for Medical Research. Key responsibilities include sourcing and purchasing medical equipment, laboratory supplies, and other project-related materials; ensuring compliance with national and international procurement regulations; negotiating contracts with suppliers; managing procurement budgets; coordinating with project teams to identify procurement needs; and maintaining accurate procurement records. The role requires adherence to ethical standards and transparency in all procurement activities to support the successful execution of the PHOTON Trial.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the healthcare or research sector; knowledge of procurement laws and regulations in Tanzania; proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; familiarity with medical equipment and laboratory supplies is an added advantage.
