IT Officer
Job Description
The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the district's information technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. Primary duties include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems and networks; ensuring data security and integrity; providing technical support to staff; and implementing IT policies and procedures. The role involves collaborating with other departments to identify technology needs, training users on new systems, and ensuring compliance with government IT standards. The officer will also be expected to stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance efficiency in service delivery within the district local government.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; At least three years of relevant work experience in IT support or systems administration; Proficiency in network administration, hardware maintenance, and software troubleshooting; Knowledge of database management systems; Familiarity with government IT policies and security protocols; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision; Excellent communication skills in English; Experience with local government operations is an added advantage.
