Programme Policy Officer (Micronutrients) Project Coordinator
Job Description
This incumbent will serve as the Project Coordinator for the Postcode Lotterij Food Fortification Project within WFP Tanzania. The role involves overseeing the implementation of micronutrient fortification initiatives, ensuring alignment with WFP’s strategic goals and the Country Strategic Plan (CSP, 2023–2028). Key responsibilities include coordinating with government agencies, partners, and stakeholders to design, monitor, and evaluate fortification programs; providing technical guidance on micronutrient interventions; and ensuring compliance with national and international standards. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate fortification efforts into broader food assistance and nutrition programs. Additionally, the coordinator will report progress to senior management, prepare donor reports, and contribute to advocacy efforts to promote food fortification as a sustainable solution to malnutrition. The position operates in a dynamic, multicultural environment with a focus on humanitarian impact and innovation.
Requirements
Advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Food Technology, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related fields; strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; minimum 5-10 years of relevant professional experience; commitment to WFP’s values (Integrity, Collaboration, Commitment, Humanity, and Inclusion); proficiency in English (additional UN languages are an asset); experience in project management, policy development, or humanitarian nutrition programs; familiarity with food fortification processes and regulatory frameworks; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
