Senior Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our dynamic team at DP World Logistics Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment critical to our logistics operations. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates at peak efficiency to minimize downtime. The Senior Mechanic will lead a team of junior mechanics, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with other departments to optimize operational performance. Additionally, the role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, compliance with industry standards, and documentation of all maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment mechanics, leadership experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role; Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems; Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and diagnostic tools; Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics; Valid driver’s license with a clean record; Excellent leadership and communication skills; Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required; Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; Familiarity with DP World’s operational standards and safety protocols is an added advantage.
