Maintenance Officer
Job Description
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for the maintenance of physical facilities, housekeeping, and ground maintenance within the university premises. This includes preparing architectural and structural drawings, preparing cost estimates for maintenance and construction of new buildings, and conducting site measurements for valuation of projects. The role involves coordinating artisans' work, ensuring efficient utilization of materials to avoid loss, and conducting routine maintenance surveillance. Additionally, the officer will collaborate with relevant departments to implement and maintain a schedule for physical facilities maintenance. The position requires performing any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Architecture from a recognized institution; Diploma/Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Architecture will be an added advantage; Cumulative service period of six (6) years relevant work experience, with three (3) years at the grade of Maintenance Officer II or in a comparable position within a university setup; Registration with the relevant professional body.
