Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed designs of electrical building services. This includes the preparation of tender documentation and construction supervision. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality deliverables are submitted to clients. The role involves working on diverse projects such as residential, commercial, institutional, industrial developments, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. Proficiency in engineering design software like AutoCAD, DIALux, and Relux is required. The position requires experience in a consultancy environment and adherence to Kenyan and international electrical codes and standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognized university; Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) with requisite years of logged experience for Professional Engineer registration; At least 5–8 years of relevant post-graduation experience in electrical building services design, tender documentation, and construction supervision; Sound working knowledge of Kenyan and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEE/BS 7671 wiring regulations, KEBS/KS and IEC standards, NFPA fire and life-safety codes); Proficiency in AutoCAD for technical drawing production and DIALux or Relux for lighting design and photometric analysis; Experience working within a consultancy environment.
