Community Liaison Officer (CLO)
Job Description
The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will serve as the primary bridge between Rutongo Mines and the surrounding communities, ensuring transparent and effective communication. Key responsibilities include organizing and facilitating community meetings, addressing grievances, and promoting sustainable development initiatives aligned with the company's social responsibility programs. The CLO will document and report community feedback to senior management, coordinate with local leaders and NGOs, and ensure compliance with community engagement policies. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the impact of mining activities on local livelihoods and advocating for community-driven solutions to mitigate negative effects. The position requires a strong understanding of conflict resolution, cultural sensitivity, and experience in community development or social work.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in community engagement, social work, or CSR; strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is a plus); ability to work in multicultural environments; experience in conflict resolution and stakeholder management; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to work in Rutongo Mines, Kigali.
