Job Description
The Chairperson will provide leadership to the Sports Disputes Tribunal and oversee the fair, impartial, and efficient resolution of disputes arising within Kenya’s sports sector. This role involves chairing tribunal sessions, ensuring adherence to legal and procedural frameworks, and collaborating with other tribunal members to deliver timely and just outcomes. The Chairperson will also represent the tribunal in stakeholder engagements and public forums to promote awareness of sports dispute resolution mechanisms. This is a part-time position with a five-year term, renewable for one additional term subject to satisfactory performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; at least 10 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice or dispute resolution; demonstrated leadership in sports law or related fields; strong analytical and communication skills; familiarity with sports governance and regulatory frameworks; must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
