Data Officer

The Data Officer will be responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing health data to support research and program activities at Ifakara Health Institute. Primary duties include collecting, validating, and cleaning data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The role involves generating reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making and monitoring of health programs. The Data Officer will collaborate closely with research teams, field staff, and data management personnel to ensure timely and high-quality data delivery. Additionally, the role may involve training field staff on data collection tools and protocols, as well as contributing to the development of data management systems and standard operating procedures.

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management, analysis, and reporting; Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and database management systems (e.g., SQL, Access); Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili; Ability to work independently and in a team; Knowledge of health data standards and protocols is an added advantage.
