Country Director

The Country Director for Right To Play International in Burundi will lead the Burundi team to deliver on the strategic plan through high-quality, impactful programming. This senior leadership role involves developing the country program's strategic vision, overseeing the program portfolio, and ensuring alignment with Right To Play's global mission and the socio-economic context of Burundi. The role includes fundraising, representation, and relationship development to grow impact, income, and profile. The Country Director manages, mentors, and coaches the Senior Management Team, ensuring adherence to Right To Play's Culture Code and organizational values. Responsibilities also include financial oversight, compliance, risk management, safeguarding, and ensuring high-quality program design and reporting. The position requires participation in the Global Leadership Team and contributes to global system improvement initiatives. Field visits are expected, with potential international travel.

Degree/diploma in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development studies or other related discipline; 10 years’ experience in a leadership role within a large or international organization; ability to work under pressure meeting deadlines; experience in fundraising, financial management, and people management; strong understanding of safeguarding policies and risk management; proficiency in French and Kirundi is an asset.
