Job Description
The Finance, Administration and HR Officer is responsible for the financial management and accounting procedures of the Ethiopia Country Office, as well as all Human Resource and Administrative processes. The role ensures accurate recording of financial transactions in the SUN system, compliance of HR procedures with national legislation and Johanniter policies, and effective functioning of administrative systems to support programme activities. Key responsibilities include preparing vouchers in compliance with procurement and financial procedures, implementing approved budgets, monitoring adherence to procurement procedures, and preparing monthly closing documents for the 4JUH platform. The officer supports recruitment processes, including drafting job adverts, shortlisting, organizing interviews, and preparing contracts. They also monitor probation periods, leave balances, and contract expiry dates, and draft or review administrative contracts such as rent, services, and MOUs in consultation with line managers. The role requires strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support Johanniter’s values and leadership principles by fostering trust, diversity, and open communication. Additionally, the officer contributes to the development and implementation of the country strategy, supports performance management processes, and ensures compliance with safeguarding principles across finance, HR, and administration.
Requirements
Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resource Management, or Qualification in accounting (at least CPA II); at least four years’ experience in a similar position; professional proficiency in Excel, Word, and computerized accounting; knowledge of the SUN System or any accounting software is essential; experience working with NGOs and donors; flexibility and ability to adapt; good team player; responsible and innovative; excellent communication skills, including drafting documents; problem-solving skills in day-to-day and crisis situations; ability to travel throughout the country and regions; fluency in English, written and spoken.
