Laboratory Technologist

Job Description

The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens and performing a wide range of diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory disciplines including chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, hematology, serology, and flow cytometry. The role involves maintaining strict quality standards and accurate documentation of all laboratory results. Additional responsibilities include managing laboratory supplies and inventory, participating in laboratory audits and quality management activities, and supporting the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance initiatives. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in a high-volume laboratory environment.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field; Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting; Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures across chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, hematology, serology, and flow cytometry; Proficiency in laboratory information systems and documentation practices; Certification or registration with a recognized professional body is an advantage; Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
