Industrial Engineer
Job Description
World Vision is seeking a dedicated Wash Engineer to design, implement, and monitor water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects in rural and underserved communities across Rwanda. The role involves conducting needs assessments, developing project proposals, overseeing construction of water systems (boreholes, piped systems), and ensuring compliance with national and international WASH standards. The engineer will collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and field teams to ensure sustainable and inclusive WASH solutions. Responsibilities include training community members on maintenance, hygiene promotion, and monitoring project progress to achieve long-term impact. The position requires frequent travel to project sites, often in remote areas with limited infrastructure.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field; minimum 3 years of experience in WASH project implementation; strong technical skills in water system design and construction; knowledge of Rwanda’s WASH policies and standards; experience working in rural or humanitarian settings; proficiency in project management tools; excellent communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; willingness to travel extensively.
