Rwanda Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Coordinator will serve as the operational backbone of One Acre Fund's Rwanda program (Tubura), ensuring that vehicles (trucks, motorbikes, or cars) are safe, available, and cost-effective. This role involves managing transportation networks and vendor partnerships to build and maintain a reliable network of transport providers across the country. The coordinator will oversee transportation assignments, loading activities, and delivery documentation to ensure smooth execution of field operations. Responsibilities include coordinating transportation planning and scheduling to optimize fleet utilization, vehicle leasing arrangements, and fuel allocation across operational regions. The role also involves monitoring transportation activities, developing performance dashboards, tracking key metrics (utilization, delivery performance, costs, fuel consumption), and analyzing data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, the coordinator will maintain knowledge of transportation networks, road conditions, and operational constraints to develop route optimization strategies and contingency plans. They will train and support field and warehouse teams on transportation processes, document lessons learned, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

2–3 years of relevant experience in transportation operations, fleet management, or logistics coordination; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Proven ability to manage transportation providers, negotiate agreements, and build strong operational partnerships; Proactive problem solver with a focus on efficiency, service quality, and operational improvement; Strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
