Invitation for Bids to Design and Provide Prototype of Packaging Material for Perishable Products

Kilimo Trust Rwanda is seeking a qualified designer or manufacturer to develop eco-friendly packaging prototypes for perishable agricultural products, including Irish potatoes, carrots, onions, and garlic. The successful bidder will conduct comparative case studies in Musanze and Nyabihu Districts to assess current packaging needs, design and develop 100% eco-friendly packaging materials in sizes of 1kg, 5kg, 10kg, 25kg, and 50kg, and ensure the packages are lightweight, tear-resistant, moisture-resistant, and biodegradable. The assignment aligns with promoting circular economy principles and reducing single-use plastics in food systems. The designer will also provide a sustainable supply plan, cost framework, and long-term pricing proposal for the packaging materials.

Application letter addressed to Kilimo Trust Rwanda, Team Leader; Copy of Business Registration Certificate issued by RDB; Valid Tax Clearance Certificate from Rwanda Revenue Authority; Valid RSSB Clearance Certificate; Proof of Electronic Billing Machine (EBM) registration; Proven experience in designing, developing, and producing eco-friendly packaging materials; Financial and technical proposal detailing design approach, material to be used, and methodology; Proposed implementation timeline; Proposed unit prices for each packaging size indicating VAT status; Pictures or Artwork of proposed packages to be designed; All documents must be written in English.
