Senior Lecturer – Pharmacy

Key Responsibilities They will be reporting to the Head of Department Health Sciences and will be responsible for: - Teaching Pharmacology Units allocated by the Head of Department. - Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels. - Delivering high-quality lectures and practical sessions. - Overseeing clinical practice, providing students with real-world learning experiences and guidelines in industry settings. - Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required. - Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities. - Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals. - Seeking and participating in consultancies. - Disseminating research findings at national or international conferences scientific symposiums and webinars. - Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff. - Ensuring all academic activities align with the standards of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. - Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

A minimum of a relevant PhD, master’s, and bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, pharmacology, or a related field from an accredited university; at least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow; evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow; supervision of at least two (2) postgraduate students to completion; attraction of research funds as a Lecturer/Research Fellow; evidence of attending and contributing at academic conferences, seminars, or workshops; active participation in departmental and school matters, student academic advising, and committee membership; demonstrated commitment to sustainability; valid Pharmacy and Poisons Board Practice Licence; up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and established industry linkages.
