Credit Controller
Job Description
Our client, a multinational security solutions provider in East Africa, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Controller to oversee the collection of debts and ensure timely receipt of customer payments. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant experience, a degree in accounting, finance, economics, or any relevant field from a recognized university and CPAK, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role requires a proactive individual committed to maintaining accurate financial records and fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee efficient and timely collection of outstanding debts from customers, adhering to company credit policies. - Generate and verify customer invoices and statements for accuracy before distribution. - Ensure proper allocation of customer receipts to corresponding invoices using the Omni system or other tools. - Prepare comprehensive monthly reconciliations of customer accounts to identify discrepancies or outstanding balances. - Provide guidance, training, and support to Credit Control Assistants and riders, fostering a cohesive team environment. - Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve billing or payment disputes, ensuring customer satisfaction. - Enforce compliance with company credit policies, evaluate credit limits, and recommend adjustments when necessary. - Prepare and present regular reports on outstanding debts, collections, and customer credit profiles to the Credit Control Manager. - Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance credit control efficiency. - Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Credit Control Manager.
Requirements
Must have a Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or any relevant field from a recognized university and CPAK. Must have at least 4 years of relevant working experience in credit control or similar roles. Proficient in ERP and accounting software systems, with in-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with great attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain high integrity and confidentiality. Experience in a multi-divisional, multi-national environment with cross-functional, multicultural team.
