Finance Officer
Job Description
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the district's financial operations, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with government financial regulations. Key duties include maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and providing financial advice to the district leadership. The role involves collaborating with department heads to align financial resources with program objectives and ensuring transparency in financial transactions. Additionally, the Finance Officer will oversee payroll processing, manage procurement activities, and prepare financial statements for audits. The position requires adherence to the Local Government Job Specifications and Description 2011, as well as compliance with the Ministry of Public Service guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Professional qualification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage; Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in financial management or accounting; Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite; Strong analytical and communication skills; Knowledge of government financial regulations and procurement procedures; Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; Familiarity with Uganda Public Service Commission guidelines and Local Government Job Specifications 2011.
