Construction Engineer Intern
Job Description
UNICEF is seeking four interns to support construction engineering activities in Juba, South Sudan. The selected candidates will assist in the planning, design, and supervision of infrastructure projects, including schools, health facilities, and water supply systems. They will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to the implementation of UNICEF’s programs aimed at improving access to essential services for children and communities. Responsibilities include conducting site assessments, preparing technical drawings, monitoring construction progress, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and UNICEF policies. Interns will also participate in coordination meetings with government counterparts, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment with national development priorities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field; enrolled in or recently completed an accredited engineering program; strong technical knowledge of construction principles and standards; proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a team and under pressure; fluency in English (additional local languages are an asset); prior experience in construction or infrastructure projects is desirable but not mandatory.
